The quick version

We use your enquiry to help you find suitable tuition and reply to you. This website has no advertising or analytics trackers, and submitting a form does not subscribe you to marketing. You can email us to ask about, correct or request deletion of your information.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

LC Computer Science Grinds is a tuition service operated by Michael Keating, trading as Keating IT Solutions. Michael Keating is responsible for deciding how personal information is used for the service (the “data controller”). Contact us using the details below for any privacy query.

2. What information do we collect?

  • Enquiry details: the student’s name, email address, school year, level, general location and area requiring help.
  • Optional details: parent or guardian name, phone number and anything you choose to include in your message. A student’s first name is enough for an initial enquiry.
  • Correspondence: information in emails and follow-up conversations about your enquiry or tuition.
  • Technical information: the web server receives connection details such as your IP address, requested page and browser information to deliver the site. The hosting service may retain operational or security logs.

Details may come from you or from a parent or guardian enquiring for a student. Please share this notice with the student when providing their details. We do not request dates of birth, identification documents, school reports, medical information or payment-card details through this form.

There is no legal requirement to submit this enquiry form. The required fields help us respond with suitable support; without a contact email we cannot reply. Providing these details does not itself create a tuition contract. You can also email us directly.

3. Why do we use your information?

  • Responding and preparing a booking: to discuss suitable lessons and take steps you request before entering a tuition contract.
  • Arranging tuition: to administer an agreed booking and communicate with the person making it.
  • Supporting a student named by a parent: our legitimate interest in answering the family’s enquiry and arranging suitable tuition, balanced against the student’s privacy and interests.
  • Security and resolving issues: our legitimate interests in preventing misuse, keeping the website available and handling complaints.
  • Required records: where applicable, to meet legal obligations connected with payments or a booked service.

We do not use the enquiry form for automated decisions, profiling or marketing subscriptions. A request for help does not require you to consent to advertising.

4. Who receives it, and where is it processed?

The enquiry is intended for the tutor and those authorised to administer the service. Technical suppliers process the information needed to host the website and deliver or store correspondence.

Our selected website hosting provider is SmartHost Web Services Limited. Hosting involves processing the website’s files, incoming web requests and operational or security records. SmartHost lists hosting infrastructure in Ireland and backup infrastructure in Germany in its supplier information; the services that apply depend on the hosting plan and configuration.

When online form delivery is enabled, the message is sent through Resend to our enquiry mailbox. The website itself does not maintain an enquiry database. The email provider and mailbox retain the message separately. If delivery is unavailable, the form explains this and offers direct email instead.

Resend’s primary processing is in the United States. Its Data Processing Addendum describes overseas-transfer safeguards, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses for relevant transfers. Website hosting in Ireland does not mean all email processing remains in the EU. Mailbox processing also depends on the email service used. Contact us for details of providers, processing locations and a copy of applicable safeguards.

Information may also be disclosed where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or address a legal claim. We do not sell enquiry information. Following an external link takes you to a website with its own privacy practices.

5. How long is information kept?

Enquiry correspondence is needed while we answer your question and any related follow-up. Once an enquiry is resolved and no further follow-up is reasonably expected, it should be deleted unless a specific ongoing purpose requires it.

If you book tuition, necessary correspondence becomes part of the booking record. Retention then depends on the duration of the tuition, any outstanding payment or complaint, applicable accounting obligations and the need to establish or respond to a legal claim. Only information relevant to that purpose should be retained.

Server logs and email-service copies have separate supplier retention settings. The website does not automatically delete messages from the receiving mailbox. You can ask us about a particular record or request deletion using the contact details above.

6. A note for students and parents

If you’re a student, the details you send help us understand what you need help with and how to reply. You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to fix something, or ask us to delete it. We’ll explain if there is a reason a particular record still needs to be kept.

If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian in arranging and confirming paid tuition. Parents should share only the details needed for the enquiry. Please do not send sensitive personal information or assessed coursework through the enquiry form.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful use.

Email info@lccomputersciencegrinds.ie to make a request. No special form or legal wording is needed. We may ask for limited information if reasonably necessary to confirm your identity; please do not send identity documents unless we have explained why they are needed.

We will respond without undue delay and normally within one month of receiving your request. For complex or numerous requests, this may be extended by up to two further months; we will explain the reason within the first month. Requests are normally free of charge. Any lawful exception, refusal or fee will be explained, together with your options to challenge the decision.

You can object specifically to our use of your information for legitimate interests, explaining your situation. A parent can help a student make a request, but the student’s privacy rights remain their own. We will consider authority, the student’s understanding and other people’s privacy when responding.

You can also raise a concern with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission. You do not have to contact us first.

8. Cookies and updates

See our Cookie Policy for how the website uses browser storage. We will update this notice if the service or use of information changes. The date at the top identifies this version.
